  • ERICA Tool version November 2012, released: November 2012

    • Fixed a problem with 'Software Update' feature that affects Vista and Windows 7 users.
    • In Tier 3, Result, Effects tab: fixed the connection to FREDERICA database.
    • Problem solved: When editing an organism, the old version of the tool updated DCC values in the database. However if the organism had been used in a previous assessment and then the user ran the assessment again the tool failed to read the updated DCC values from the database (and instead used the old values saved in the project file). The new version of the tool uses the updated values automatically.
    • Problem with report solved: The report generated by the old version of the tool showed the wrong limiting reference organism in the Risk Quotient table (see Tier 1 - Outputs) for some cases. The new version shows the correct limiting reference organism in all cases.
    • User interface problem fixed: Freezing screen when stepping through a Tier and you click on the back-button.
  • ERICA Tool version June 2011, released: June 2011

    • Solved the problem with "standard user" running ERICA on Vista and Windows 7.
    • New functionality in Tiers 2 and 3 to allow the user to set rules for which media activity concentrations are used to derive values for media for which measurement data are not available.
    • Fixed a problem in the Add Isotope Wizard when in some case the isotopes were not added properly (the calculation of the DCC values was uncompleted). It is recommended to remove the previously added isotopes and to add them again.
    • Fixed missing in-soil DCC for 'Detritivorous invertebrate' when adding new isotopes. It is recommended to remove the previously added isotopes and to add them again.
    • Fixed the wrong limiting organisms in the result of Tier 1.
    • Solved problem when running aquatic transport models when the 'estimated river width' was not entered.
    • Updated Edit Organism function to allow changes to the OCR and CR parameter.
    • Fixed shrunken text boxes in the Add Organism Wizard when the user has customized Windows to use a bigger font size in the desktop items.
    • Changed in the report generation to show the comments for the parameters values.
    • Other minor fixes and improvements to edit the values in the tables.
    • Changed to protect the default master databases. The tool automatically protects each excel file with a password. The file protection will persist after the tool shutdown.
  • For the version released: September 10, 2009

    • Added parameter to increase the maximum Java heap size when ERICA is running. This setting was missing in the previous installation files for the Release May 2009 and can cause the tools stop when running large simulations. Note that this problem can be solved only by reinstalling the tool using the setup file from September, 10 2009.
    • Others minor bugs corrections.
  • For the version released: July 27, 2009

    • Corrections and improvements in the graphic interface.
  • For the version released: May 2009

    • Included the Java RE to allow running the tool on PCs that are reluctant to install the Java update.
    • Added a Software Updates System which can be started from the menu bar 'Help' -> 'Software Updates'.
    • Added to the tables a new pop up menu which includes the 'Export to Excel' functionality.
    • Improved the Copy and Paste functionality.
    • Improved the value and distribution function editor. Added a database value area to assist with information about the default values.
    • Corrected the default database values for the scaling parameters of terrestrial reference organism Shrub (ksi = 0.2, chi = 0.2)
    • Minor bugs corrections.
  • For the version released: May 14, 2008

    • Updated Dosimetry module. Erroneous calculation of beta-spectra yields was fixed and new module was incorporated in the tool.
    • Updated DCCs for default databases. Concerns the radioisotopes: Co-58, Te-129m, Ce-144, Eu-152.
    • Updated EMCLs for tool databases. Concerns the radioisotopes: Co-58, Te-129m, Ce-144, Eu-152.
    • Sensitivity Analyses “filter”. Correlation coefficients only reported for parameters which have direct association with the output.
    • Licence and log of changes added onto help menu.
    • Added menu to access the most recently used ERICA assessment files.
    • A problem with the calculation of air concentrations for C, H, P and S when using the IAEA SRS-19 “air” model in terrestrial ecosystem is fixed.
    • Minor bugs corrections. Among other things, the process of inputting values into tables has been improved.
  • For the version May 2007, downloaded before 28 August 2007

Download and install the new version Aug 2007 to solve these problems:

    • Problem: Wrong data for dose rate screening value (40, 400) of terrestrial ecosystem
    • Status: Fixed
    • Problem: Stop at the interface while showing 'initialising GUI...'.Error caused when the tool tries to find the native browser path.
    • Status: Fixed. Thanks to Xiaofeng Zhang (China) for reporting
    • Problem: Missed the name of the dose rate screening value in the “result tab” of Tier 1 and for marine ecosystem.
    • Status: Fixed
  • For the version May 2007, downloaded before 19 June 2007

    • Problem: When you try to remove a previously-added isotope, the tool is infinitely running.
    • Status: Fixed
    • Problem: When a new isotope or organism from the Assessment Context step in Tier 2 or Tier 3, the Database View doesn’t update the DCC values.
    • Status: Fixed
    • Problem: When adding a new isotope or organism the Database View shows, for freshwater and marine ecosystems, a blank DCC parameter with the name: Dose Conversion Coefficient of ext-alpha.
    • Solution: If the tool has been reinstalled with the update from 19 June 2007, choose one of these alternatives:
      1. If you haven't added new data you want to preserve, e.g. a new organism, you can manually delete the database home directory 'My ERICA Database' in your machine. The next time you start the ERICA tool the new database will be installed and the problem be fixed. Note: The default location of the database home directory is: C:\Documents and Settings\«user dir»\My Documents\My ERICA Database.
      2. If you want to preserve added data, do nothing, the blank DCC parameter will remain but calculations are not affected.
    • Note: The results of your assessments are not affected by the problems described above.
  • For the version May 2007, downloaded before 04 June 2007

    • Problem: Can not generate a report.
    • Status: Fixed
